The Write Road: Writing Workshops for Young Writers

The Write Road- The Write Road is a series of interactive Writing Workshops designed to engage the young writer and help encourage strong literacy and writing skills.

Workshops Offered:

Literacy Through the Lyrics

Literacy through the Lyrics is an interactive presentation custom-designed for parents and teachers to show the direct correlation between music and learning. After this workshop parents will be able to use music lyrics to help their students increase their literacy, recall, and critical interpretation. The hour and a half workshop will use specific songs to identify literary elements and the cultural context in which it is presented. It will also identify ways for parents to gage and monitor what their students are hearing.

Mind, Body, and Soul

A character education program to nourish the Mind, Body, and Soul of the WHOLE GIRL.

Mind, Body, and Soul is specifically designed to develop character while building on the principles of self-love, resilience and wellness in relation to the whole girl. The program will provide middle and high school students with the core principles that are needed to build and maintain character.

Elements of Writing: Instructional Support for Educators

Through a series of professional development and collaborative

planning activities, the Elements of Writing program engages teachers in activities that promote rigorous writing and supports Common Core Curriculum. It also exposes teachers to tools and resources to teaching effective writing in all content areas and

gives teachers the opportunity to engage in collaborative practices with peers that that focus on writing.
